Vancouver: props to NM’s original artists

May 15, 2007

The North Shore News, apparently serving North and West Vancouver, has a tidy article detailing a trip to Petroglyph National Monument, located on Albuquerque’s Westside. The piece does a fair job discussing the history of the petroglyphs, the Pueblos, Westside urbanization, and then meanders off track to touch on the Sandia Tramway.

Most Albuquerque ‘travel articles’ I come across focus on Old Town, the Balloon Fiesta, and, yes, the Tram, but few give Petroglyph National Monument more than a sentence or two. It’s nice to see our neighbors to the North(west) taking an interest in us beyond ristas and ‘Mexican’ food. Thanks, Vancouver North and West Vancouver.
