All aboard the ‘Hollywood Bus’

July 16, 2007

Driving home from work today, a little piece on NPR’s All Things Considered caught my attention.

Wait! Turn it up…

New Mexico is competing with California for film projects?! You don’t say!

It’s a neat bit, but nothing new for anyone in New Mexico with newspaper subscription. Still, as I sat on a freeway with a few hundred thousand of my fellow commuters (read: Californians), I couldn’t help but think New Mexico’s burgeoning film industry was news to them. I’m not sure Gov. Richardson’s flaunting Val Kilmer’s instate residence should be the cornerstone of New Mexico film, but… eh, why not?

To listen to ATC’s NM film segment, follow this link and click on the red/white ‘Audio’ ‘Listen’ button underneath the “New Mexico Lands Role in Indiana Jones” headline.

Kind of fitting this piece should air in the middle of the Duke City Shootout, no?
